HHHHHHHHHHHI! the class blog is rather dead yeah? *specifically referring to someone*
And so, Mr Abdiallah wrote for us a longggggggggggggggggggg compo (:
P/S: it's wanted by Mr.Abdillah to be up in the class blog.
here comes it:
From Mr Abdillah to the class of 2A2 2008,
It's been near 2 whole years that I have been your home teacher. First and foremost, I would like to wish a very happy and very belated birthday to all those whom the class reps have missed out in giving the class birthday cards. I apologise for not having to remind them to hand out and give them to you but I guess it is just human error to forget due to the hectic schedule of post-exam activities, results and streaming. So to Shalihin, Yong Hwee, Delvin, Irfan, Rashidah, Rachel, Alston, Rayen, Shu Hui and Heng Le, HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!!. To anyone that I have missed out, again, I apologise.
I wanted to say some of these things on the last day of school but I am not very good with words or emotions. WARNING : This is going to be long.
Here it goes....I hope that all of you would have gained something from me teaching you. Not just in Mathematics, or in ACE but in all our interactions together... in the classroom and outside of it. I hope that in me teaching you, you would have realised that LIFE is not just about getting your calculations in algebra right or scoring in your tests. But more importantly, it is about looking back and reflecting about the decisions we have made and being proud about what we have learnt from them. It is about growing up into the kind of people that others will respect and be proud of.
The class went through a lot of issues together. From students running away from home, the departure of Ariellna, racial bullying, teasing, fighting, theft, getting disappointing streaming results, etc... I hope that all of you realise that life has so many issues. (And these only from ONE class and at your age!! There are more to come in life) In some of these events, it is so easy to forget and judge some of your peers as trouble makers, irritating, etc... However, remember, it is not in our position to judge people so easily. All of us have really different backgrounds. Some of us have it easy with a nice house and a loving family but there are others who lead a more troubled life. It is not so easy to see at times.
Hence some of us are more mature in making good decisions than others. Thus my advice is : Please don't be so quick to judge people by how they look, how they behave or what they do. Get to know them or try to understand. We will begin to see that in our efforts to understand, we can begin to see the good in them. You will also begin to realise that if we are sincere about it, they too will begin to show some care and concern in return. I hope that in all these events that had happened, you have learnt some things about friendship, love, caring, integrity, responsibility and empathy...
I certainly had a lot of fun in teaching this class for the past two years. I learnt a lot too. I learnt that patience is the key in gaining your trust, love, respect and admiration. I hoped that in me being an example, you too would have realised this fact. This is true in all loving relationships. I am certainly proud to see some of you grow and making good choices that embodies integrity, honesty, love, care and concern. I am also happy to see some fo you making the best of teenage years. Enjoy these years as they will only last a short while before you enter adulthood. However, also do know that the choices that you make in these years will greatly shape who and what you want to be.
I also want to say thanks to the class committee, especially Sharon, Reinald and Firdaus who held the class chairman and vice-chairmanships. You made my job easier in handling the class and keeping the class discipline. To my trustworthy treasurer, Elvira thanks for keeping account of the money and I hope you have learnt something about accounting. To my AV reps, Kwang Jun and Jeremy thanks for helping all the teachers set-up their equipment. I'm sure they appreciate your tech know-how. To my ACE reps, and Library Elves, Hazazi, Himelda, Rayen and Azimah, thanks for keeping the class together with the birhday cards. To my class env. reps, Shalihin and Zafirah, thank you for trying to keep the class clean. It's not an easy job in getting the class to do it, but I hope you have learnt something about trying to lead people in doing these dirty jobs.. :) My noticeboard for the whole year could be much much better though. To my Maths subject rep, Shanur, thanks for helping me collect their homeworks etc. To all other subject reps, thank you for making your teachers' life so much easier. I wish I can thank everybody, but it will too long but again, thank you to all who have made my journey in teaching this class meaningful and enjoyable.
Lastly, I wish all of you all the success and happiness in whatever you do. Some of you did not get the streaming results that you wanted. Don't be sad about it already or be angry about it. We have to understand that these are the results of our efforts. And sometimes we might think that life is a bit unfair. Well the truth is, life is unfair and we just have to accept it. More importantly, what do we make of what we are given? We have to make the best of what we have and strive for what we want to achieve. I may not teach you again next year or in the year following that but I hope that you will apply all that you have learnt and give it your all. Your sec 3 life is your foundation for your N-levels and O-levels. So please give your best from the very start and you will find that it is easier at the end. I will certainly look forward to seeing you in school this Friday. Take care and love all of you lots.
Regards,
Mr Abdillah
